I usually do not eat refined sugar, as my skin goes crazy if I do so. But from time to time my sweet tooth kicks in. These energy balls are the perfect sweet snack for me. They taste like chocolate truffles to me.
Ingredients
2 cups of pitted dates
1 cup almonds
3 TBS chia
3 TBS linseed
6 TBS cacao powder
2 TBS coconut oil
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
OPTIONAL: cardamom powder
Instructions
- Put the pitted dates and almonds in your food processor. Process until the mixture is fine and homogeneous.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to your food processor and until mixture just starts to clump together.
- Roll your "dough" into balls and transfer to an airtight container to save for later. These can be stored at room temperature.
Notes
Get creative - you can substitute the ingredients. Use your favorite nuts or substitute the dates with dried apricots or plums.
